Hamburg Area Middle schoolers welcomed by two new faces

Hamburg Area School District prepares for a new school year with a few changes.

“Students in kindergarten will have alternating start dates to allow for a soft opening,” said Mrs. Teresa Freiwald, Chief Learning Officer, Hamburg Area School District. Middle school students will be welcomed by two new faces. Dr. Gravish has transitioned to the Middle School as Principal, and Mr. Easter will be providing support as the Dean of Students.”

At the high school, Freiwald said a new experience for high school students will be available through zSpace, an augmented reality technology solution.

Listed below are some important dates for everyone at Hamburg:


Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16: The district will host a two-day orientation program for new teachers.

Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23: All staff members come together for convocation and professional learning time.

Thursday, August 24: First day of school for all students in grades 1-12.

Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25: Alternating start for kindergarten students.
