Fire crews responded to a structure fire at Giorgio Foods Inc. plant in Richmond Township on Aug. 20.
Walnuttown Fire Company Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Giannotti said the fire started around 8:01 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, at the facility on Dryville Road in Richmond Township. There were 10 fire companies on scene with about 60 firefighters and 17 trucks, mostly to provide water to extinguish the fire. There were no hydrants close by, Giannotti said.
“We had the fire under control in about 45 minutes,” he said. “Cause is believed to be electrical in nature.”
No damage estimate was available. There were no injuries.
