The 71st Annual Oley Valley Community Fair will be held Sept. 21-23 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at the Oley Fairgrounds, 26 Jefferson Street. Admission is free for this event; there is a $5 parking fee.

“The Oley Fair Is The Place To Beeeee!” is the theme for this year.

Kicking things off will be the Pumpkin Weigh Off at Main Stage Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m. the Oley Fair Celebrity Dairy Showmanship Contest will be held. The community is invited to come out to support and cheer on local “celebrities” as they present dairy cows to a panel of judges.

According to Fair President Kevin Bieber, one of the things that makes the fair unique is the home-style food – such as famous french fries – prepared and served by volunteers from nearby churches. There will be no food vendors or midways found at the fair.

Two new contests have been added – the Daily Facebook Photo Contest and the Youth Decorating Cupcake Contest.

For the photo contest there will be a different photo theme each day; Thursday – Oley Fair Animals, Friday – Oley Fair Food, Saturday – Oley Fair Contests. One entry per person per day and photos must be taken at the fair on the day of entry. See the fairbook for additional contest entry details.

BB&T is providing trophy cups which will be awarded to the Department Champions; these trophies will be presented to the winners at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, of the Fair.
