amity >> The Amity Fire Company celebrated the arrival of its newest fire truck with a parade and housing ceremony on Saturday.

The parade was followed by a block party and traditional housing ceremony. Residents gathered along Rosecliff Drive to wave as area fire trucks paraded on toward Old Airport Road and on to Station 49 located at 47 Pine Forge Road in Douglassville.

Fire companies from Berks, Montgomery and Lehigh counties were in attendance.

The last housing that the Amity Fire Company held was in 1994. Since then, the fire company has been able to replace every one of its vehicles and improve the equipment.
