On September 20, 2017 the Twin Valley Rotary Club was proud to honor Twin Valley High School seniors Hannah Spiri and David Sabulsky as their students of the month. The presentation was made at their weekly meeting. Hannah and David were honored for their participation in extra-curricular activities and outstanding academic achievement.

During Hannah’s time at TVHS she has been involved in a variety of clubs and teams. Hannah is a member of the National Honor Society as well as French Honors Society. She participates in TVHS Heroes and is also a member of LINK and history club.

Hannah plays field hockey and lacrosse and was elected as a captain in field hockey this year. In 2015, her sophomore year of high school, her field hockey team won the State Championship. In both field hockey and lacrosse Hannah was selected to the All-County team as a junior.

Freshman year, she received the IED (Introduction to Engineering Design) Award. Sophomore year Hannah received the French II award, and junior year she received the Ceramics award. Hannah has also been elected as the Induction Chair for National Honors Society.

After high school she plans to attend a 3+3 program for physical therapy, graduating after 6 years with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She hopes to continue to play field hockey while doing this. Eventually, Hannah would like to be a director at her own site or open her own practice for physical therapy.

David is an active participant in our school community. He is a proud member of the National Honors Society. He has also been involved in Mini-THON for the past two years following Penn State’s lead in raising money for pediatric cancer and is the Financial Officer for the program.

David is a member of the Twin Valley High School Heroes club where selected students go to our local elementary school to teach young students life and communication lessons. David plans on continuing to be involved outside the classroom during his college years as it is fulfilling to me to be a part of a community.

Sports is also a part of David’s high school life and it has taught him many life lessons. David has been elected as a team captain of the high school football team both junior and senior years and that responsibility has strengthened his understanding that there is more meaning to sports than just the game.

David also has taken a lead role in the community service our team performs. David volunteered helping at youth sports camps. It’s gratifying and humbling when both younger students look up to him for guidance.

The leadership skills that David has learned during his Twin Valley years has led him to pursue a career in education.
