Twenty-five students from the Fleetwood High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America took their leadership skills to the next level by attending the Region 8 Leadership Workshop. Those in attendance learned about the PA FBLA State Project, the Alzheimer’s Association, and ways that their chapter could assist the organization. Members also learned about appropriate business attire to wear for job interviews through a presentation sponsored by the Men’s Warehouse. Chapter officers interacted with those officers from other schools and shared ideas about ways to increase membership and fundraise while the rest of the members networked with local colleges and non-profit organizations.
Following the workshop, Fleetwood members learned about and practiced dining etiquette at Vincenzo’s. Members were required to read information, discussed etiquette rules for business meetings, and completed a quiz prior to eating. Each member also practiced money management skills by paying for their own meal, plus tax and tip.
Overall, this day provided an in-depth look at FBLA and just a few of its programs of work. Those that attended learned a lot about the organization.
