This year is the fourteenth anniversary of the Boyertown Area Unity Walk. It will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m.
The walk begins at the Boyertown Community Park. Parking will be available across the street at Middle School West (donations accepted). The walk is part of the Boyertown Fall Festival. The festival has activities running from 10-5 p.m.
For the Unity Walk, folks can organize a walking team to win money for your favorite charity. Each walking team with five people or more will be put into a drawing. Four teams will be drawn with the charity receiving a contribution of $100.
If you would like to create a walking team in advance, please contact the United Way office at (610) 367-8716. This is a great opportunity to show the strength of community in Boyertown. Please join me and many others at the walk to demonstrate our appreciation for diversity and our desire for acceptance for all.
