On Friday, Oct. 13, the Boyertown Area Historical Society will host its first-ever Haunted History Gallery at the museum. This event will be held from 6-9 p.m. at 43 S. Chestnut St., Boyertown.

“We’re trying to get a little bit more activity in the Society, and update some of our exhibits which are pretty old, tried and true,” said Margaret Harner, Historical Society board member. “We’re trying to get some excitement into them.”

During the Haunted History exhibit – attendees will have the chance to pose for a photo in an open coffin, explore an iron mine, or visit the local “dentist” – all while learning about the history of the borough.

Harner said it’s basically an exhibit for Halloween, with a special emphasis on the casket company and a mine.

“We’re actually trying to gear it towards things that kids can do – interactive kinds of activities. We’re going to talk about the ghosts in the building. There will be someone talking about all the things that have been going on – it’s pretty interesting, it’s not scary.” The ghost talk won’t be an investigation.

Haunted History Gallery is a one-night only experience this year.

Refreshments will be available and there is a $5 admission fee to the museum. For additional details, visit <www.boyertownhistory.org> or call 610 367 5255.

The exhibit will be set up for about a month before transitioning to a Christmas theme.
