On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20 and 21, Conestoga Christian School will hold the 44th annual benefit Chicken Barbecue and Country Auction.

Activities begin Friday with chicken barbecue available between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Drive through service is open from 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Conestoga Mennonite Church. Have fun shopping at our Craft Sale and Gift Certificate Store while attending our Chicken Barbecue.

Purchase your Chicken dinner at the door for $10. The dinner includes half a barbecued chicken, applesauce, chips, dinner roll and butter, whoopie pie, and Turkey Hill drink. Half chickens are also available for $5.50.

Friends, family, and community are invited to watch an alumni soccer game held Friday night at 7 p.m. after the BBQ. It’s a great time to connect and fellowship with friends at our beautiful soccer field.

Saturday activities include the traditional Country Auction, beginning at 9 a.m. The Craft Sale and Gift Certificate store will both be open. A breakfast of egg sandwiches, apple dumplings, and coffee will be available beginning at 8 am. Our children’s area opens at 10 a.m. Children will enjoy entertainment in the kid’s area with activities, games and a bounce house starting at 10 am. With the purchase of a $7 wristband children are able to play all day in a safe, supervised environment! Our Food Tent will be serving delicious homemade apple dumplings, pork barbecue sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken corn soup, French fries, and ice cream.

This year’s main auction items will include handmade quilts, pork meat packages, furniture, travel opportunities, artwork including prints from Richard Bollinger and alumni Chris Lancer, along with items donated by our patrons, CCS friends and area businesses. There are many exciting donations such as park hopper passes to Disney World, Hot Air Balloon Tickets and more.

Each class at CCS has designed a themed basket to be auctioned at 10:30 a.m. Some of the themes for this year’s baskets are Backyard Bash, Winter Dream, Goin’ to Grandmas, Home Decor, Baking and Fishing. The quilts will be auctioned at 12 p.m. They are a popular item sold at our auction. A lot of hard work has gone into these gorgeous quilts, even our elementary students helped tie the knots on one. Pictures and information on our quilts and other auction items are available on the school’s website at www.conestogachristian.net/auction-2017.

Overflow parking and shuttle service is available at Conestoga Mennonite Church. For more information about this benefit event, contact Michelle Parris in the Admissions Office at Conestoga Christian School, 610-286-0353 Ext 402 or michelle.parris@conestogachristian.net.
