LOWER HEIDELBERG >> Berks County Detectives are investigating after the death of a young Exeter Township woman has been ruled a homicide.
Lower Heidelberg Police contacted county detectives after a body was discovered Sunday, Oct. 8, in a wooded area off of Riegel Road in Lower Heidelberg, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities identified the woman as Madison Marie Walb, 23, of Exeter.
An autopsy was performed by Reading Hospital pathologist Dr. Supriya Kuruvilla on Monday, Oct. 9. Although a cause of death was not specified by police, the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Detectives are awaiting results of a toxicology test.
Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams said it is believed Walb’s body was dumped in the wooded area after she was killed elsewhere.
Authorities have declined to release any further information on the ongoing investigation.
