Boyertown Area Senior High School has announced an open house to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated facility as the construction process has reached completion.

The open house will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, from 1-4 p.m. at Boyertown Area Senior High, 120 N. Monroe St.

The public will then be able to tour the facility, including the old high school building which has now become the Freshman Academy.

The event will start with a ribbon cutting ceremony as well as placing the 2017 date stone and time capsule.

Since the high school has been renovated and added on to over a long period of time, the building has a date-stone marking the completion of each of the stages. The dates highlighted up until this point include 1922, 1934, 1955 and 1994. The request for a 2017 date-stone was approved last year, September 2016, by the board in addition to the relocation of the 1994 date-stone and time capsule which had to be removed during construction.

The school board appointed and approved the contract with D’Huy Engineering back in April 23, 2013, to provide construction management services for the multi-million dollar addition/renovation project.

The entire Boyertown Area School District community is invited to attend the open house, according to school district officials.
