Firefly Bookstore in Kutztown had a great event on Sunday, Oct. 22, with local author Amy Impellizzeri and her newest book, “The Truth About Thea”.
The book centers on Will, a recovering heroin addict-turned-counselor who has a dark secret. After an ultimatum from his pregnant ex-wife, Will was forced to assume a new identity and to fake his own death to get out from under his dealer and user-friends.
Now Will is counseling Thea, a young woman who has been diagnosed with a pathological addiction to creating fake social media identities. As Will works with Thea, the truth is put into motion on a collision course. Secrets start to unravel ultimately revealing the truth about Thea.
About 30 people were in attendance. Many of those were long-time fans who have read her earlier books “Lemongrass Hope” and “The Secret of Worry Dolls”. Firefly Bookstore was pleased to host, welcoming readers from Allentown and Reading areas.
Amy is a former corporate litigator in New York City, who left to write and advocate for working women and entrepreneurs. She now resides in Reading.
Her sophomore novel, “Secrets of Worry Dolls,” was released in December 2016 and was named a Bronze Winner in the INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards.
She is a member of the Tall Poppy Writers, a group dedicated to bringing writers and readers together, tallpoppies.org/for-readers.
Amy has been a featured local author during the annual Firefly Bookstore Author Pavilion in both 2015 and 2016.
