DOUGLASS (MONT.) >> Two candidates are seeking a township supervisor seat with two years left on its term in the Nov. 7 election.
The seat, once held by former police chief Fred Ziegler, who resigned under charges of theft, is now held by John Stasik Jr., a Democrat and former supervisor who was appointed by the board to fill the seat until this election.
He is opposed by Republican Joshua Z. Stouch.
Supervisor Anthony Kuklinski is unopposed in his reelection bid for another six-year term.
In his candidate response, Stouch, 35, wrote that he decided to run because “I believe it is time for some new ideas and fresh ways of thinking in Douglass Township. We need a vision for the future and good ideas to tackle some of the pressing issues being faced by our current times.”
Stouch is in his second term as an elected Constable of Douglass Township. He was appointed member of planning agency, vice chair of emergency services board, former vice chair of open space and aecreation board, former vice president of the Sassamansville Fire Company, and trustee and firefighter of New Hanover Fire Rescue.
If elected, Stouch wrote his top priority would be “assure fiscal responsibility and continue to maintain a high level of service in the emergency services and public works within the township.”
Stasik did not provide a response to Digital First Media’s candidate questionnaire.
