The staff at La Amorah Salon, 100 S. Kemp St., in Lyons, are proud to host its First Anniversary Gala to benefit Support Homeless Veterans, Inc. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Tickets for the Gala are on sale through Nov. 18.
The event will take place at the Lyons Fire Company, 110 Park Ave, Lyons at 6 p.m.
The first year of business has exceeded owner Aubrey Schwoyer’s expectations and she wanted to celebrate. Those who know Aubrey know that she lives with a ‘go big or go home’ mentality, so a party of this nature comes as no surprise to those close to her. With her husband a U.S. Marine, older brother in the Air Force, younger brother in the Marines, and countless other family members with military background, it seemed only natural to choose Support Homeless Veterans as a beneficiary. Aubrey strongly believes that it is important to ‘pay it forward’ and help those in need whenever able.
Created in 2011 to combat the growing epidemic of homelessness among American Veterans, Support Homeless Veterans, Inc. is devoted to bringing the quality of life to these forgotten heroes. They are committed to promoting purpose driven lives among our nation’s finest men and women, while increasing the awareness and involvement of surrounding communities.
The Anniversary Gala will include dinner and dessert, raffle and 50/50 drawing, and dancing. Those guests that arrive dressed in 1920s attire will receive a free raffle ticket. There will also be a collection box for guests that would like to donate items such as hygiene products and non-perishable food items.
Tickets for the Gala are on sale through Nov. 18. All profits and proceeds will be donated directly to Support Homeless Veterans, Inc.
