AMITY >> Police are investigating after an act of vandalism left several picnic tables and an electrical outlet damaged in a local park.

As part of his Eagle Scout project, a resident was cleaning, fixing and replacing the picnic tables under the new pavilion at Lake Drive Recreational Park, police said. Sometime between Friday, Nov. 3, in the evening and Sunday, Nov. 4, in the morning, an unknown suspect caused significant damage to several of the picnic tables and to an electrical outlet. Specifically, boards on the table tops and benches were broken in half and the cover to an electrical outlet was ripped off.

Police are asking that anyone with information on the identity of the offenders contact the Amity Township Police Department, Detective DiMaria at 610-689-6000 Ext. 235.
