M.A.S. Imports on Route 222, Fleetwood, hosted a Grand Reopening on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. Owners Leann and Mike Sacks rebuilt after their business experienced a fire about 10 months ago.

“It’s been an awesome day,” said Mike. “I didn’t expect this kind of turnout… just different people came up and said, ‘Glad to see you are back and open again.’ They were concerned I was going to stay closed.”

“It was great that the firefighters got to come, the ones that helped us,” said Leann. “It’s been a long 10 months.”

The significance of holding the Grand Reopening on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. was inspired by a 11:11 song by Dinosaur Pile Up.

“The song talks about fire and we thought it fit. And 11 is supposed to be lucky,” said Leann.

The Grand Reopening included refreshments and a raffle for which prizes were donated. They gave out M.A.S. Imports t-shirts to the first 50 attendees. The crowd of attendees included family, friends, community members and customers.

“We had a rough year rebuilding this. It’s like starting over. Many thought we closed,” said Leann. “We survived. We got through it. First couple of weeks we didn’t know what we were doing. We knew others who experienced a fire but when it hits you, it’s hard.”

The owners are grateful for their neighbors, friends, family, church and customers.

“They helped clean out and offered support and prayers,” said Leann. “We’re really grateful for the support. We’re grateful to everybody who helped us get to this day.”
