The Woman’s Club of Exeter Township is gearing up for its 20th Holiday House Tour. This year’s tour features eight stops – including six homes, a local winery, and the Daniel Boone Homestead.
The Holiday House Tour is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. This is a self-guided tour where attendees drive to each of the locations; a wrist bands will be provided and will be used to gain entrance into each of the homes.
One of the homes featured on the tour is a 1926 Tudor-style house at 1500 Hill Road, coined the “McSweeney Manor” by owners Jonathon and Teresa McSweeney. The architecture, 20th Century antiques mixed with modern comforts and holiday spirits – all coated with a dash of Tennessee-style hospitality – will be showcased.
Some of the home’s must-see features include a curved dining room with leaded glass windows and eye-brow shaped benches, French doors, arched cased openings, and unique light fixtures. Teresa has said her favorite part of the home is the grand, curved stairway which frames the couple’s 10 foot bird-themed Christmas tree.
Tickets for the Holiday House Tour are available at Exeter Chamber of Commerce, ETC Exeter, By the Water Tower Antiques, Franey’s Visalia, or from a club member.
