“We are that store! Come explore the treasures within!” said sisters Kathy Bernard and Pam Van der Laan on Nov. 2 as they officially opened The Clock Tower Marketplace, in the Clock Tower Mall, 2846 Main Street, Morgantown.

Located on the corner of Route 23 and Route 10 across from the Windmill Restaurant, the sisters said, “We are a collaboration of entrepreneurs where each of us have our own business in this unique 4,000 square foot market.”

Their mission to help others find their passion to become entrepreneurs has attracted 40 small business people to The Tower Market. Also, as part of her ‘Save Our Youth Ministry’, Van der Laan said she will mentor teenagers at the market who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs.

Shop for antiques, collectibles, hobbies, crafts, homemade muffins and bread, Amish jam and pickles, or peanut butter pumpkin doggie biscuits, while getting a cell phone fixed or visit the Oasis for facials, therapeutic massage, foot detox, biofeedback and more. They are also offering classes including art, painting, drawing as well as meditation and computer basics and will also feature local entertainers.

“This place is a cornucopia of small businesses,” said Eric Clapprood, at New Tech Line. “We offer business and residential technical support, we can fix your cell phone, or computer, explain the cloud, or walk you through the internet highway.”

His wife Heather said, “We have a combined total of over 30 years’ experience. I come from corporate executive administration, and Eric was a corporate IT specialist. We are here daily and available by appointment.”

“We are opening Oasis to offer a holistic approach to healing and well-being for the community,” Bernard said. “I will be providing foot detox sessions. Your greatest concentration of pores is on your feet and this ionic current removes heavy metals and toxins from your system. It is a favorite of the Amish.”

Van der Laan is a masters level therapist in Human Service including mental health and drug and alcohol counseling. She uses biofeedback to help people with migraines, anxiety, children with ADHD, veterans, and those suffering from PTSD.

“I am an Army veteran and have 33 years of therapy experience working with youth and adults. Biofeedback is a non-pharmacological approach to helplessness leading to healing. My clients are aged 4-99. All our services at Oasis are on a sliding fee making it affordable. I am following my passion,” said Van der Laan.

Licensed esthetician Melissa Joyce, owner of Joshua’s Garden, is also working in Oasis offering facials, hand waxing etc.
