The Boyertown Area School District is proud to recognize the achievements of Boyertown Area High School’s Select Choir for performing at the American Choral Directors Association of Pennsylvania (ACDA PA) fall choral conference.

Boyertown Area High School’s Select Choir was the only high school choir chosen to perform at the conference, held at Susquehanna University on November 10 and 11, 2017. They performed alongside a middle school choir, college choir, and chapel choir.

Once they were accepted to the conference, the choir diligently prepared the concert repertoire for a month and a half leading up to the performance, and their hard work paid off when they received a standing ovation.

“When a group of choral directors give a standing ovation, it’s because it’s well deserved,” said Mr. Jeffrey Brunner, choral director at Boyertown Area High School. “It was a huge goal to be accepted at this conference and the students were so proud of their performance.”

Along with school and conference performances, the choir performs regularly in the community. The choir will be recognized at an upcoming school board of directors meeting.

The ACDA is a nonprofit music education organization made up of choral directors from across the United States. Their mission is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.
