OLEY >> Police are investigating a new break-in that they say bears similarities to a later one in another township.

According to a release from Pennsylvania State Police, a burglary was reported in Oley Township on Nov. 30 at the Smart Mart located at 6824 Boyertown Pike. This incident was only 3.5 miles from the burglary two nights later on Dec. 2 at the 562 Mini Mart in Earl Township, according to police.

In both incidents, police say two individuals smashed the glass doors of the business in order to enter the store. Once inside, they stole a large amount of cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

Video surveillance captured the suspects.

Anyone who is able to identify the suspect is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police at 610-378-4011 or Berks Crime Alert.
