Hamburg Jazz students participate in Get JazzED Festival at Wyomissing

Hamburg Area High School Jazz Band students participated in the Get JazzED Festival on Saturday, January 13 at Wyomissing Jr./Sr. High School on Jan. 13.

The festival was hosted by Cathy Barra, Director of Bands at Wyomissing Jr./Sr. High School.

Hamburg Area High School Jazz Band students who participated were Tana Argot, Joey Dalton, Trevor Fegley, Jacob Fegley, Tyler Geschwindt, Trayton Smith, Lyndsey Carr, Loy Miranda and Harley Ludy.

“Awesome program,” said Megan (Reimer) Kline, Director of Bands at Hamburg Area High School. “A super comfortable learning environment for our students with a great panel of professional, experienced clinicians! All of the clinicians do an excellent job of working with each group on their level and provide helpful feedback to help us grow as musicians.”

Get JazzED Instrumental Day is a one day event for middle and high school students “to learn about and experience first hand various aspects of the jazz genre, and work with professional jazz musicians in a fun, supportive environment,” according to http://getjazzedberks.com/special-events/gj-instrumental-day/.

The program was presented by Berks Arts Council and Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest. Funding support is provided by Reading Musical Foundation.
