Kutztown Borough Police seek the community’s assistance in identifying a person who has been spraying his “art” all over Kutztown on vehicles, houses, garages and dumpsters.
“We first started getting calls on the 16th of January but believe it was done a day or two earlier. We have pictures of the suspect on our Twitter and Tacebook page,” said Kutztown Police Chief Craig Summers. “Pictures are not great and contrary to what people see on fictional TV, we cannot enhance them and as of now they are the best pictures we have.”
Graffiti has been found at several locations on Wentz Street, Greenwich Street, Roller Avenue and Main Street on garages, trash cans, sides of box trucks and a loading dock. Summers believes that there may be more graffiti than has been found or reported.
“A lot of this stuff is done on private property and I’m sure if you ask one of the victim’s if they think it is ‘art’ or vandalism they will tell you it’s vandalism,” said Summers. “Graffiti vandalism such as this if not cleaned up leads to more graffiti and ultimately lowers home values in the area.”
Summers said that generally these offenses occur at night.
“If the people notice something suspicious they should call the police, moreover, if they have surveillance cameras and believe they may have captured an image of the individual please call us.”
