The Berks County 4-H Horse Members held their horse banquet recently and were recognized for their participation and achievements in the horse program for 2018.
A highlight to the evening was the announcement of the 2018 Berks County Outstanding Horse Members. All 4-H horse club members have an opportunity to fill out an application on their accomplishments and participation in 4-H events for the past year. These forms get judge on an overall participation of 4-H events. The winners were:
* Rookie of the Year: Elizabeth Jones from Berks Saddle-ites 4-H Horse Club
* Junior Division (8-12): Champion, Ava Senseny from Ride for Pride 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Kamryn Witman from the Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club
* Intermediate Division (13-15): Champion, Andrew Long from Berks Saddle-ites 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Megan Vance from Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club
* Senior Division (16+): Champion, Chloe Sullivan from the Ride For Pride 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Lucas Moyer from Berks Saddle-ites 4-H Horse Club
* Honorable Mention-Spirit of 4-H Awards: Caitlin Diffendal and Grace Mayberry from Ride For Pride 4-H Horse Club and Caleb Moyer from Berks Saddle-ites 4-H Horse Club.
Other awards handed out included:
* Participation in the PA 4-H Junior Championship Show as an exhibitor this past July: Grace Mayberry, Ava Senseny, Daniel Twaddell, Jenna Tyson, and Chloe Sullivan
* Participation in the PA State 4-H Horse Show as an exhibitor this past October: Caitlin Diffendal, Lindsay Diffendal, Ava Fedak, Grace Mayberry, Caleb Moyer, Lucas Moyer, Megan Salmone, Ava Senseny, Chloe Sullivan, Quinn Sullivan, Lilly Sutch, Daniel Twaddell, Jenna Tyson and Megan Vance.
* PA State 4-H Model Horse Show participant: Andrew Long and Elizabeth Jones
* PA State 4-H Equine Educational Exhibit participant: Andrew Long and Elizabeth Jones
