Sen. David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) and Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) presented a congratulatory citation on Jan. 19 to Koziar’s Christmas Village on its 70th anniversary.

Located near Bernville in Jefferson Township, the inception of Koziar’s Christmas Village began in 1948 when William M. Koziar adorned his home and property with Christmas lights, displays and decorations, much to the contentment of his wife Grace and their four children. Upon the initial start of setting up their Christmas displays and decorations, the family began to expand their collection which awarded them several accolades and attracted thousands of visitors, both near and far, to witness firsthand the Christmas spirit at the Koziar residence.

“The Koziar Family should be very proud of their accomplishments,” Argall said. “For the past 70 years, Koziar’s Christmas Village has put smiles on citizens’ faces from around the world and allowed them to experience the magic of Christmas. I look forward to seeing this attraction grow and prosper for many years to come.”

“What began as one local man’s effort to put his Christmas spirit on display has grown into an international attraction located right here in our area,” Jozwiak said. “For seven decades, the Koziar family has spread Christmas cheer to people from all over the world who visit the Christmas Village. I wish the Koziar family the best of luck as they work to carry on this tradition in the years ahead.”
