Jan. 17 through 20, four members of the Mountain Springs Country Fair, Shartlesville, attended the 106th Annual Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs Convention at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey. There, they received an unexpected and humbling award, The Zone Four 2017 Fair of the Year. This award is given annually to a fair for outstanding accomplishments at their fair.

The 1st Annual Mountain Springs Country Fair was held June 13 through 17, 2017 at the Mountain Springs Arena in Shartlesville. This was an outstanding accomplishment considering they had to cancel their 2016 fair and find a new location for the fair after loosing their lease late in 2015. But with hard work, determination and help from a lot of people they pulled it off.

The Board of the Mountain Springs Country Fair would like to thank all the volunteers, vendors, exhibitors, visitors and sponsors for helping make this possible. They would also like to let you know they are working on this year’s fair that will be held June 14 through 16 and it will be better then last year’s.

At the PSACF Convention, considered one of the best in the country by people from all around the country, board members President Don Bercaw, Vice President Tim Wasser, Secretary Kim Moyer-Bercaw, Donna Wasser and more than 1,600 others attended meetings and seminars with topics ranging from advertising to livestock to terrorism.

There is also a trade show with over 150 vendors. In the trade show you can find anything and everything you would see at a fair and anything you would need to run it. They will bring this information back to all the people who help with the fair so it can be used to improve the fair and keep all there visitors safe.
