Hamburg middle schoolers win ribbons at regional technology competition

Several middle school students from Hamburg Area Middle School recently had the opportunity to compete at a regional Technology Student Association (TSA) event at Stroudsburg High School. TSA is a national organization of students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

For this competition, students could either work individually or as a team in events such as: dragster design, flight challenge, CAD with 3D modeling, robotics, and digital photography. Under the advisement of Dickson Borger, Hamburg Area Middle School Tech Ed teacher, these students dedicated months of in school and after school hours to their entries.

Returning home with ribbons were the following students. Team D consisting of Allison Bracy, Arwen Buckwalter, and Benjamin Bracy placed third in Robotics. Team C consisting of Benjamin Bracy and John Gilberg placed fifth in Structural Engineering. Team B consisting of Grace Gilberg and Aaliyah Stump placed fifth in Problem Solving. Team E consisting of John Gilberg and Matthew Livingston placed sixth in Problem Solving. Emily Bailey placed sixth in Digital Photography.
