Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care, 120 W. 5th Street, Boyertown, is pleased to invite the public to a free Alzheimer’s Association Support Group meeting on Thursday, March 15, from 6:30-8 p.m. to learn more about caring for your senior loved ones living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

This month’s meeting will focus on the RAISE Family Caregivers Act presented by Gina Cooke, the director of Diakon Adult Day Services at Manatawny Manor. She will discuss the new law, which requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop, maintain and update a strategy to recognize and support family caregivers. The goals of the strategy include respite options, ways to increase financial security, workplace policies and more! RAISE stands for Recognize, Assist, Include, Support and Engage.

The Alzheimer’s Association Support Group, affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, is held on the third Thursday of each month. Light refreshments are served to those attending. If you can’t make it to this meeting but are interested in learning more about caring for your senior loved one, next month’s meeting will be held on Thursday, April 19.

The Alzheimer’s Association Support Group is free and open to the public. Care is provided to loved ones while the caregiver is in the meeting, pre-assessment required. Please RSVP by calling 610-473-8066.
