The work of Tilden Township artist Jay Ressler will be featured at Art Plus Gallery, located on Penn Avenue in West Reading during the month of March.

The exhibit of his unique digital composite photographs entitled “Country Roads: An Uncommon View” will be on display from March 7 through April 1. An opening reception is slated for Friday, March 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 608 Penn Avenue, West Reading.

“This series of photographs celebrates Berks County’s rich agricultural heritage and the important place farming continues to play in the area as well as the diversity of country living,” Ressler said.

In his Country Roads series he draws on photographs not only of barns and farm compounds, but also covered bridges, animals, and even a limestone mine crusher.

A Berks native and graduate of Albright College, Ressler has been active in the local art scene for the last several years after returning to the area.

He has become known for his distinctive composite photographs which are created by digitally blending several photographic layers. He says “this suggests a multi-dimensional world view and the dynamic way we really interact with our surroundings, an element that can sometimes be lacking in more traditional photographic work.”
