UNION twp. >> State Police have launched an investigation involving a student and a staff member at Daniel Boone Area High School.

Trooper David Boehm said Wednesday that state police at Reading are currently investigating an incident that occurred at the high school between 2016 and 2017.

The press release issued by state police did not elaborate further on the nature of the incident but Boehm stated that it involved a student and a staff member and that “no children are in danger.”

According to reports, the staff member has been removed from the school pending the outcome of a police investigation.

“There are no further details being released at this time,” Trooper Boehm stated. “This is a very active investigation.”

The high school is located at 501 Chestnut Street (Route 345) in Union Township, which doesn’t have its own police force and relies on state police for coverage.
