Troop 48 New Holland scout C. Ryan Rathman earns Eagle Scout rank

C. Ryan Rathman, a 2017 Ephrata Area High School graduate, attained his Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in the Boy Scout Program, at a Court of Honor Ceremony this past summer. Ryan is the son of Bob and Lori Rathman of Ephrata.

Ryan began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub in Cub Scout Pack 38 in Ephrata, where he earned his Arrow of Light. In 2010 he became a Scout member of Troop 48, New Holland. He earned 35 Merit Badges. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. During his scouting career, he camped every year at camp Bashore and attended a week-long high adventure experience at the Florida Sea Base. While in the troop, he served in various leadership positions including Assistant Patrol Leader of the Fox and Phoenix patrols, Troop Grubmaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and as a Den Chief for Cub Pack 148 where he earned the Den Chief Service Award. In addition, he was recognized for his outstanding dedication and leadership in Troop 48 and served as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
