The Schuylkill Valley High School Panther Robotics team competed at the Eastern PA State High School VEX Robotics Tournament on March 4 in Norristown. The team won 2 out of 6 qualifying rounds against the best Vex Robotics teams in Eastern Pennsylvania.

The new first year robotics team qualified to attend the state competition by placing first and securing the tournament champion award at the Central PA Regional Qualifier in April 2018. Daniel Guydik, Gaven Ulrich, and Steven Arentz did an outstanding job representing our school and community at the state competition. Scott Horning filled out the roster for the state competition team and assisted with robot programming and code for the In the Zone 2018 Competition.

Competitive robotics encompasses all four areas of STEM education and develops important life skills in problem solving, teamwork, communication, collaboration, and project-based organization.

The Panther Robotics team is seeking funding for the new Panthers Robotics Program being offered at Schuylkill Valley High School, including corporate sponsors for competitive events. Sponsorship provides students the opportunity to participate at local, regional, state, and national robotics competitive events.

The Panther Robotics Competition team would like to thank 2017-18 corporate sponsors, Reading Precast, in Leesport. Special thanks to Schuylkill Valley High School Administration, Staff, Students, Community, and Board of Directors for supporting the Panther Robotics program.

For more information regarding the program, sponsorship, and donations please contact Matthew Cullen, Technology and Engineering Education Teacher, mcullen@schuylkillvalley.org and 610-216-5487.
