Honey Brook Food Pantry serves 10 percent of Honey Brook residents every month and they seek the community’s support. The pantry invites the community to a fundraising Dinner on April 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Forks of the Brandywine EPC, 1648 Horseshoe Pike, Glenmoore. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go directly to feed Honey Brook’s hungry.
Food Pantry board chairman Kenneth Ross said, “We are excited to announce that the featured speaker and honored guest will be Steveanna Wynn, executive director of Share and past Philadelphia Inquirer Citizen of the Year. She is a heralded career hunger advocate that you will want to meet and hear.”
Wynn is Share’s Executive Director since 1989 and serves on the Board of Directors of Hunger Free Pennsylvania and Nutritional Development Services. She is a past-president of the Pennsylvania Association of Regional Food Banks and chairs the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Food Advisory Committee. In Philadelphia, Wynn leads the Anti-Hunger Subcommittee of the Food Policy Advisory Committee. In addition, she is winner of numerous awards including the MANNA Nourish Award; Schweitzer Leadership Award from Thomas Jefferson University; and the Hunger Fighter Award from the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger.
“You will enjoy a delicious fully catered dinner by Ludwig’s Village Market and hear firsthand testimonials from Honey Brook community families served by the pantry. Their stories give a behind the scene look at the impact that your donations and service make to your neighbors and how they impact the health and growth of our community. It promises to be an insightful and heartwarming evening. We will also address our growth, new programs, and our aspirations,” said Ross.
