St. Luke Lutheran Church, Gilbertsville, was pleased to present member Bob Ballantyne, retired Boyertown Sr. High Teacher, and his son, Dr. Scott Ballantyne in their program entitled, “Conch-ering Irma” on March 17.

The father and son team have enjoyed fly fishing in Key West for the past 16 years. Their program showed pictures of beautiful Key West, and pictures of the wonderful homes in the area.

Next, pictures of the destruction to the area of Hurricane Irma were shared. Experiences of those who live there were described, and shown.

Though the clean up and rebuilding of the area continues, it’s clear the people of the area are determined to make the area better than ever. The program was informative and inspirational.

Proceeds from the free will offering collected that evening are being donated to the United Way of the Florida Keys, Hurricane Irma Relief.
