The Berks History Center and Oakbrook Brewing Company invited the community to immerse in Berks County’s vibrant beer brewing culture, both past and present, at Berks Brewery & Breweriana Fest on April 14 at the Berks History Center in Reading.
Berks Brewery & Breweriana Fest was a special spring Second Saturday program that celebrated “all things beer.” A presentation by Chad Campbell, owner of Breweriana Aficianado, looked back on Berks County’s legendary beer brewing industry, which was followed by a beer tasting hosted and sponsored by Oakbrook Brewing Company. Participants also enjoyed a special breweriana exhibit, which featured brewery collectables and memorabilia from Berks County breweries such as Deppen, Lauer’s, Sunshine, Old Reading, and more! The exhibit is curated by Chad Campbell and several other breweriana collectors.
“We are thrilled to partner with Breweriana Aficianado and Oakbrook Brewing Company to present this one-of-a-kind event at the Berks History Center. Berks Brewery & Breweriana Fest is a great opportunity to experience and celebrate the fascinating culture and industry that was, and continues to be, unique to Berks County,” said Sime Bertolet, Executive Director, The Berks History Center. “Local breweries like Oakbrook Brewing Company are continuing time-honored brewing traditions and reviving the industry here in Berks County. We thank Oakbrook Brewing Company for sponsoring the event with their latest beers for the event and for supporting historic preservation in Berks County.”
