Are you a fan of chick lit? Was the chicken in Moana your favorite character? If Chicken Little saw our library, would he say ‘the sky is falling’? The Bethel-Tulpehocken Public Library invites you to stop in between April 25 and May 25 to take a ‘peep’ at our expansion plans. And to celebrate Peep Show month, the library will be showcasing all things chicken!

Thanks to the generosity of Conrad Weiser Middle School, and the use of an incubator, we will be hatching over a dozen chicken eggs, starting the kick-off of our expansion plans. The eggs and renovation plans will both be on display in the library. We invite you to take part in a raffle, which will support the building campaign. For a $1 donation, you may take a guess as to when the first three chicks will hatch and have a chance to win a prize. Gift baskets will also be available for raffle.

While you take a peep at the eggs and the building plans, be sure to look at the ‘eggsellent’ reading and entertainment suggestions we have for you. Want to learn the chicken dance? Is your secret dream to have free range chickens in your yard? Do you know how most episodes of Shaun the Sheep start? Or are you in need of some new chicken or quiche recipes? We have the books and movies for you!

If you are interested in seeing how the eggs and chicks are developing and want to learn about the hatching, join Miss Betsy on Monday, May 7 at 4 p.m. for a special chick program.

The library renovation and expansion project is starting this summer. Join us April 25 to May 25 as eggs hatch and final renovation plans are revealed. Help us get our fundraising cracking!
