ecently 35 members from the Fleetwood Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the 2018 State Leadership Conference held in Hershey. At the conference the Fleetwood Chapter was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter for the 2017 – 2018 school year.

This award, in which the chapter received 5th place, is known as the William Selden Outstanding Chapter Award. To receive this distinction, the chapter must complete many activities aimed at the goals of the Future Business Leaders of America and submit all of the corresponding paperwork to the state office. Only 10 chapters, out of the 290 chapters across the state, receive this top honor.

The Fleetwood Chapter was also awarded with 4th place for the community service hours, known as the Big 33. The members in the chapter had logged over 1,753 hours of service time. And the chapter also received 1st place for their Local Chapter Annual Business Report which was prepared by multiple members.

In addition to the chapter being recognized, individuals from the Fleetwood Chapter received recognition for their accomplishments.

Jenna Masenheimer won 2nd place in Computer Applications.

The team of Sebastian Kukielka and Laura Kaskey won 3rd place in Public Service Announcement.

The team of Sarah Crissman, Leah Dewald, and Madeline Burt won 3rd place for their American Enterprise Project.

The team of Brooke Gorman, Caitlin Bower, and Faith Readinger won 4th place for their Community Service Project.

Mason Reimert won 6th place in Mobile Application Development.

Caitlin Bower won 7th place in Healthcare Administration.

The team of Benjamin Haas, Justin Bartosh, and Nicole Hipp won 7th place for their Partnership with Business Project.

The team of Samuel DeLozier, Derek Sadler, Leah Dewald, and Madeline Burt won 10th place in Parliamentary Procedure.

Through their efforts, a total of nine students have qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference this summer in Baltimore, Md.
