A car collided with the side of a van, flipping the van on its side and trapping the driver inside in Richmond Township at 7:38 a.m. on Friday, April 20.
Fleetwood Police Department responded to the scene at Schiery Road and Schuler Road, Richmond Township. There were minor injuries reported.
Fleetwood Police report that the investigation revealed that Mitchell Loizeau, 28, Brooklyn, New York, was driving his car northbound on Schuler Road when he proceeded through the stop sign and in the intersection struck the driver side of a van, which then rolled onto its side.
The driver of the van, Robert Baver, 62, Kutztown, was confined in the van until fire personnel removed the windshield giving him access to exit the vehicle. Baver complained of minor pain and was transported by Life Lion EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital for evaluation.
Loizeau claimed he was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The car sustained front end damage and the van sustained driver side damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Walnuttown, Fleetwood and Kutztown fire companies, and fire police assisted on scene.
The roadway was not closed due to the crash.
The driver of the car, Loizeau, was cited for a stop sign violation.
