Summer Reading Program at Bethel-Tulpehocken Public Library goes “Under the Big Top” with programs that focus on a Circus theme.

*Week 1 – June 12: Circus Trainer For The Day! Learn all about the people behind the magic of the circus…those who train the animals! Enjoy a Q&A session with a real dog trainer, a snack, a story and more!
*Week 2 – June 19: (I’m Away!) Lions & Tigers!…Oh My! All about big cats! with Miss Leigh
Week 3 – June 26: Build A Circus Animal – Learn all about various circus animals, then try your hand at creating a lifesize replica of one of them.
Week 4 – July 3: (I’m Away!) Yocum Institute for the Arts – Presents Rapunzel
Week 5 – July 10: If You Ever Wanted To Bring A Circus To The Library…DON’T! – Step Right Up and test your skills at juggling, diving through rings of fire and balancing plates! This program will show you why you should never bring a circus to the library….except maybe this one time!
*Week 6 – July 17 : Clowning Around – This program will prove to be just as fun as it sounds! Enjoy a story and then become a clown…or just act like one!
Week 7 – July 24: Build an Elephant Bridge – Did you know how they tested the Brooklyn Bridge for safety after it was built? You won’t want to miss the answer in this exciting hands-on STEAM program! You will have a Stompin’ Good Time!
*Week 8 – July 31 – Mirette on the Highwire! – With the greatest of ease…You will enjoy this delightful story of The Great Bellini and wire walkers along with loads of fun activities to go with it!
Week 9 – Aug 7: Circus Art -Learn about illustrator Lois Ehlert and her book Circus, and make circus art in this fun, hands-on program!
Circus Fair- (AKA Carnival) Saturday, Aug. 11 – Step Right Up and join us to celebrate Summer Reading. Games, Dunk Tank, Prizes and Food to be had by all! Bring summer reading tickets you’ve earned, or buy some at the door! You won’t want to miss this! –
*Week 10 – Aug. 14: Zoo America – Come see live animals from Zoo America as they share all about how animals communicate!
