WEST BRANDYWINE >> Police have charged a driver for allegedly driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash on Saturday.

West Brandywine Police Lt. Jeff Kimes said on Monday that driver Paul Taylor, 52, of Honey Brook, was arrested at the scene of the crash after he allegedly failed a field sobriety test.

He said that Taylor allegedly attempted to illegally pass two vehicles in a no passing zone on Manor Road (Route 82) when he reportedly hit another vehicle head-on. The three people in the other vehicle were transported to Paoli Hospital for their injuries, according to Kimes. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. Taylor was the sole occupant in his vehicle, according to police.

West Brandywine police, East Brandywine Fire Company, Westwood ambulance and Medic 93 responded to the incident, reported as a serious crash, in the 2700 block of Manor Road in West Brandywine Township at 2:04 p.m. Saturday.

Kimes said that Taylor was arrested for alleged DUI, careless driving, recklessly driving, illegal passing and driving without insurance and no inspection.
