“Let’s Make a Splash” was the theme of the 67th annual Shoemakersville’s Children’s Fair and Parade on June 2. The theme was chosen to honor the 50th anniversary of the community’s swimming pool, which recently underwent construction and opened in time for the summer season. This year’s grand marshal was Pool Supervisor Amy Botwright.
“It’s a way to remind the town of Shoemakersville that it’s time to celebrate our first day of summer,” said Shilpa Moser, event chairperson.
The Shoemakerville Recreation Board organizes the fair and parade, a family-friendly event. Parade participants competed for prizes by best demonstrating the “Make a Splash” theme.
This year’s Grand Prize winner, sponsored by Shoemakersville Lions Club, is Shoemakersville Cub Scout Pack 163.
