Chestnut Knoll program discusses positive approach to memory care

Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care is pleased to invite the public to 120 W. Fifth St., on Thursday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. for a discussion that can help you learn more about caring for your loved ones living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

Throughout the discussion, you’ll learn and understand the multiple stages of dementia through Teepa Snow’s, The GEMS(R): Brain Change Model, which focuses on seeing an your loved ones as precious, unique, and capable. The model also encourages a care approach that maximizes their abilities in each stage. Jennelle Jamison, the director of Staff Development and Resident Care at Chestnut Knoll will be the guest speaker. She is also a certified trainer in Teepa Snow’s Positive ApproachTM to Care.

This event is free and open to the public. Care is provided to loved ones while the caregiver is attending the program, pre-assessment required. Please RSVP by calling 610-473-8066.
