Daniel Boone High School hosted their annual ‘Boone’s Got Talent’ Wednesday, Jan. 15. The show was created last year as a fundraiser for the Relay for Life program, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
The show had many interesting acts that ranged from singing, dancing, poetry, and much more. The entire night was hosted by senior students, Alex Hamill and Adam Banks, who were able to liven up the show with their amazing personalities, and interesting wardrobe changes. All the performances were splendid and it was even possible to acquire an interview with one of the contestants. Nichole Risley, 18, and Juliet Mitchel, 16, sang and played ‘I Was a Fool’ by Tegan and Sara on guitar.
‘The performance was really overwhelming, and I was actually really nervous the entire time,’ Risley said. ‘I realized when I made a mistake, but I made it through. I was really surprised when one of the judges said I could have a career at this. And make sure you say that I twerked after I told you this!’ Regardless of what Risley said, her performance wowed everyone.
Ashlynn Danner, Bethany Halliwell, Megan Jolivette, Morgan Mack, Abbey Sobel, and Annie Tran of ‘Boone’s Bellas’ took first place with their mash-up performance of various songs from various popular songs like ‘Price Tag’ by Jessie J ft. B.O.B. and many others.
The entire night was a huge success and everyone had a great time. Special thanks goes to Eric Benne, director of the show, and everyone that worked the lighting and stage transitions — the night could not have happened without you.
