One of the nicest things about living in a small town is not just how neighbors help each other, but also how local businesses work together. A perfect example is the upcoming Valentine’s Day Dinner and a Show – a partnership between The State Theatre of Boyertown and Sweet Beginnings Restaurant & Catering.
The Valentine’s Day event begins Friday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. at Zwingli Hall, 35 W. Philadelphia Ave.
Tables of six can relax and talk while listening to harp music by Betsy Chapman. Dinner, catered by Sweet Beginnings, will be served buffet style at 6:30.
The dinner choices are Petite Prime Rib or Chicken Breast with Cranberry Stuffing. Both are served with a crab cake, mixed greens, roasted red potatoes, vegetable and dinner roll. Dessert, of course, is chocolate – a black forest pie.
Following dinner guests will enjoy the fresh air with a short walk to The State Theatre, 61 N. Reading Ave. The doors open at 7:30 for the show. There, guests will enjoy the 8 p.m. Billy Joel Tribute show, River of Dreams by Todd O.
Why leave the Borough and drive for miles to a crowded restaurant where you’ll wait for an hour for a table and even longer for your meal? Why drive an hour and pay for parking to see live entertainment when you can hear great live music in an intimate venue right here? Shop local and keep your money where your heat is.
The deadline for tickets is Monday, Feb. 10. Tickets may be purchased online (via credit card) at The State Theatre’s website http://statetheatreboyertown.com, or by cash or check Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sweet Beginnings, 43 E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, or nightly at The State’s box office from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Jim and Sue Kochu of Sweet Beginnings and Kevin Rhude of The State Theatre hope to see you on Valentine’s Day.
