The Boyertown Service Unit of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pa. held its 25th Annual Valentine’s Dance on Friday, Feb. 7, at New Hanover United Methodist Church in Gilbertsville.
This semi-formal event is for Girl Scouts (Kindergarten and older) to spend an evening with their father or significant adult.
More than 300 people were in attendance. A local DJ, Martin A. Divergigelis, supplied the music and lights and Steve Pestrock Photography was on hand to provide a 5 X 7 photo of the girls and their ‘dates.’ In addition to dancing and enjoying refreshments, the girls had two opportunities for service.
Food donations for the Boyertown Salvation Army were collected at the door, Also, throughout the evening the girls could take a break from dancing and make Valentine bookmarks for local retirement communities.
