The Relay For Life of Twin Valley was recently recognized by the American Cancer Society for their efforts in 2013. Twin Valley, along with other Relay For Life events from Berks County, was given a Nationwide Top Ten Per Capita Award. This award recognizes areas that have the highest fundraising totals based on local population.

Relay For Life is a 24 hour event that brings together community members for fun, food, entertainment and a night under the stars, all while teams take turns walking or running on a track to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives and helping to Finish The Fight against cancer.

They are currently gearing up for the 2014 Relay for Life and looking for participants on teams, committee members to help plan the event and cancer survivors for recognition in order to make this year’s event even better than last. If you would like to participate in any way, please contact event Co-Chair Stacy Smoker at stacyrelay@yahoo.com or American Cancer Society Staff Partner Courtney Shaffer at courtney.shaffer@cancer.org.
