Daniel Boone Optimists announce essay contest winner

The Daniel Boone Optimist Club has announced the winner of the 2014 Essay contest. “It was a very successful contest with many applicants,” Essay Contest Chairman Lisa Buck said.

Nathan Weaver was awarded first place, Katie Dotterweich was awarded second place and Madison Okkerse was awarded third place. The optimist club presented Weaver with his certificate and monetary prize at a dinner held Thursday, March 6. His essay has moved on to participate in the district level competition, with results to be revealed in April.
