Daisy Troop 1128 went shopping at the Dollar Tree in Boyertown on Tuesday, March 11, to purchase items for Birthday Bags for Boyertown Multi-Service.

This is the March Service Project that is led by the Boyertown Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Eastern PA. Birthday Bags are given to children who otherwise could not afford to have a birthday party. Items in the bag include cake mix, icing, drink mix, cups, plate, napkins, and candles.Additional items could include party favors, decorations and a small gift for the child.

Service is an important part of the Girl Scout philosophy, and all troops are encouraged to seek out opportunities for service. Girls are encouraged to plan, promote and participate in service projects for the joy and satisfaction of helping others rather than to earn something for themselves.

The girls of Daisy Troop 1128 had a great time shopping and shared with each other the hope that the girl they shopped for enjoys her birthday party supplies.
