The kids at the Goddard School in Gilbertsville have been busy little bugs recently.

From Monday, March 24 to Friday, March 28, the school celebrated ‘Stepping Up for the Environment’ by participating in many different recycling crafts, by having lights out for an hour during the day to help conserve energy and by holding a recycled fashion show.

On Tuesday, March 25, the children received a special visit from Louie the Lightening Bug from PECO energy. During Louie’s visit, the children learned what electricity does, how it’s important to us and what to do to stay safe if an electrical wire were to fall down. The children also watched a special video featuring Louie and read a book about him; he was a true star in the children’s eyes.
