Reading Health System, in partnership with the Friends of Reading Hospital, introduced a free app for smart phones, ‘Outdoor Berks.’ Designed to make it fun and easy for those visiting, living, or working in Berks County to get out and be active, the app provides easy access to parks and recreation available throughout Berks County. Whether people want to hike, bike, or just enjoy a picnic in the park, the user-friendly app features 170 parks and trails throughout Berks County that will allow them to choose by activity type or location.
Outdoor Berks was developed by the Community Health Department at Reading Health System, and was funded by the Friends of Reading Hospital. The app was created to meet the health and wellness needs of the community by promoting the free resources available in Berks County.
The free app is available to download for Apple and Android phones in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
