May’s Twin Valley Intern of the Month is senior Brad Geisler, who interns at Twin Valley Middle School with Mrs. Nancy Schneider, a fifth-grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. Geisler spends his afternoons teaching alongside Mrs. Schneider.

‘I really like being able to work with the kids every day and help them learn the information that Mrs. Schneider is teaching,’ stated Geisler. ‘I also like to work one-on-one with the students and get to know them.’ Geisler has enjoyed his internship with the fifth grade classroom and is grateful to his mentor for teaching him how to prepare students for the future. He admires the way that her students respect her and has taken to heart how important it is to take each student seriously.

‘Brad is a wonderful role model for these impressionable 5th graders. Every day they look forward to his arrival. His interactions with the students are genuine, meaningful, and natural. The kids sense that he truly cares about them,’ commented Schneider, who is very proud of all that Geisler has accomplished in the classroom. ‘He is going to make an awesome teacher someday. He is always willing to help out and has really added to our classroom community,’ she added. Schneider is certain that Geisler has a bright future ahead of him.

Geisler is very thankful for this teaching internship, glad he got to be involved in the fifth grade classroom environment, and is excited to see where this experience will lead him in the future. Next year Geisler is planning to attend Immaculata University for Business Administration, but after this internship experience, he plans on switching to English Education.
